ADULT PROGRAM

BALLET, PILATES, DANCE,

BALLET

Adult Basic Ballet (Level 1) 

​

Suitable for the beginner adult as well as older students who would like to work in a slower paced environment. This class progresses slowly and is open to adult beginners at any point in the semester. Students are encouraged to emulate more experienced students as well as ask questions when needed.

​

Attire - Leotard and tights or Leggings and a fitted top. Non-Grip Socks may be worn only for the first two classes. Ballet Shoes are required. 

 

Adult Beginner Ballet (Level 2)

​

Suitable for the beginner adult as well as older students who would like to work in a slower paced environment. This class progresses slowly and is open to adult beginners at any point in the semester. Students are encouraged to emulate more experienced students as well as ask questions when needed.

Attire - Leotard and tights or Leggings and a fitted top. Non-Grip Socks may be worn only for the first two classes. Ballet Shoes are required.

Adult Intermediate/Advanced Ballet (Level 3)

 

Welcomes students teen through adult with at least 3 years of committed ballet training. These classes, like all of our open classes, are subject to the needs of the overall attendees of each class. Students attending this class are expected to know basic barre and center vocabulary as well as simple petite allegro, pirouettes, combinations across the floor and grand allegro.

Attire - Leotard and tights or Leggings and a fitted top. Ballet Shoes are required.

Private Classes

Times to be scheduled with chosen teacher.

We personalize each dance lesson based on your individual needs, desires, and goals, adjusting our teaching style to your ability, personality, and expectations. This ensures the most thorough and rapid learning process, all while keeping it fun, easy, and comfortable.

We accommodate each student’s schedule and create a custom tuition plan that makes each personal goal affordable.

It’s a great way for beginners to get started, seasoned dancers to take their skills to the next level, or couples to have an intimate moment with their own dance guide.

PILATES

Fundamental Beginner - Group Reformer Pilates (Level 1)

Beginning level class that instills the basics of Reformer Pilates. The classical repertoire will be sure to challenge the whole body emphasizing strength, flexibility, body awareness, balance, and posture. Perfect for anybody new to Pilates or anyone wanting to improve their precision and technique.

​

Attire - Leggings, or shorts and a fitted top. Grip Socks may be worn but are not required.

​

 

Beginner/Intermediate - Group Reformer Pilates (Level 2)

​

Beginning & Intermediate well-rounded reformer class that will target each muscle group in a balanced manner. Slightly quicker and more challenging than the fundamental reformer classes. These classes, like all of our open classes, are subject to the needs of the overall attendees of each class.

​

Attire - Leggings, or shorts and a fitted top. Grip Socks may be worn but are not required. 

​

Private Lessons 

Times to be scheduled with chosen teacher.

 

The most effective way to focus on your own unique needs. Maximize your time working on strength, injuries, or chronic issues. Increase your understanding of the various Pilates concepts and movements, while teaching you 
how to apply them to your body and your other activities.

​

Attire - Leggings, or shorts  and a fitted top. Grip Socks may be worn but are not required.

Flexibility & Conditioning 

(Approval Required)

​

This training program is specific for dancers and athletes who want to improve the amplitude of their movements and develop flexible and strong muscles. This class will focus on increasing body control, achieving proper lines, and excelling in the execution of technique. 

​

Attire - Ballet / Athletic Attire. No shoes required. 

Props - Mat, Two Yoga Blocks, & Theraband

Adult  Contemporary / Modern - Open Level

​

​

Contemporary Modern dance is a style of expressive dance that combines elements of several dance genres including modern, jazz, lyrical and classical ballet. Students will strive to connect the mind and the body through fluid dance movements. Dancers work on strength, flexibility and memorizing choreography by learning new movement phrases each class. Class includes a proper warm-up, stretches, isolations, across-the-floor progressions, and combinations. These classes, like all of our open classes, are subject to the needs of the overall attendees of each class.

Attire - Leggings and a fitted top. Toe Undies or Bare Feet. 

 

Adult Tap - Open Level

​

​

Tap dance uses the sound of the tap shoes hitting the floor as a percussive instrument. Tap dance sharpens reflexes and improves memory skills and coordination. Each class includes a warm up, steps across the floor, guided improvisation exercises and a final combination. These classes, like all of our open classes, are subject to the needs of the overall attendees of each class.

Attire - Tap Shoes are required. 

 

Adult Jazz - Open Level

​

​

Jazz dancing is a form of dance that showcases a dancer's individual style and originality. Class will focus on learning proper dance technique such as isolations of the body and developing rhythms and patterns. Students will be exposed to various styles of jazz such as Broadway, Street and Contemporary. Class is  layered with traditional jazz movement and includes a proper warm-up, stretches, isolations, across-the-floor progressions, and combinations.

Attire - Leggings and a fitted top. Jazz Shoes, Toe Undies or Bare Feet.

It is our pleasure to announce Balletiquette's Second Adult Weekend Workshop this Summer 2019! This is a non threatening fun workshop open to all levels of adults! The Schedule will be filled with Ballet, Pilates, Modern, & Choreography. We will be encouraging questions and focusing on body alignment, technique, stretching, and strength through movement. As a way to showcase and serve the community Balletiquette created a non-profit performing company, Balletiquete Dance Theatre Company, in 2004. Every year we perform a school show in locations across the San Diego County. Our repertoire includes Giselle, Copellia, The Nutcracker, Le Sylphide, and many more. Balletiquette Dance Theatre Co.'s mission has always been about creating a love of dance in our students, young and old. Performance is another way to celebrate that love.
