It was this pivot in career from dancer to a career in the military where she decided to one day open her own dance studio. She is the proud owner of Balletiquette. This is a dream come true, she hopes through her step of faith she will encourage others to believe.

Sylvia attended Howard University and studied Elementary Education and later received her bachelor’s degree in Education at Southern Illinois University. She is an educator and worked as an academic advisor for the US Navy as a full time Civil Service Worker. After work she conducts the after school dance program at Balletiquette.

Sylvia’s mission is to provide children and adults everywhere with the opportunity to learn and experience the discipline of dance and the joy of the performing arts.

It is this experience of discipline and the love of God that makes her many experiences in life so successful. She believes movement is the core to human activity. She hopes to see you at the studio to share a time to dance.
